2012 and syrian powersharing everywhere

the history of syria is a troubled one. the old assad really had a bad name. as a baath socialist, and in the western view a dictator that did no better then the other muslim despots.

now the western views are very biased. many people in the west suffer poverty and injustice of many kinds. if you forget about the police state saddam took better care for his people.

yet the baathphilosophy and saddams own taste of power required strict ruling of the unruly sects.

a dogma, to go forward in the development of the arab culture. forward in modernisation and technology. and to work against narrowmindedness, born from ignorance, lack of education and colonialist manipulation, and against intolerance.

in name.. saddam killed 170000 ppl. then came in usia and the coalition of the killing, with already 100000s children dead through the sanctions and killed millions.

theres 6 million widows now in irak that were no widow before.

so what does syria want?

young assad did better than his dad. i am not sure, but so is my impression. overall level of wealth, or so you want consumption rose significantly, and despite contrary events in the region, lebanons invasion, the continuing hassle over israel, the muslim government of turkey, and the invasion of irak amongst things, that gave the syrian regime not allways the room it needed to struggle for that advance and progression.

nevertheless the regime has a rather bad name outside syria, and reknownedly also in syria.
perhaps not with everyone, but with many people. that is no news. i do not remember much of homs 1982, but the events were not allways pretty,

we may assume assad and his sympathisers , followers or the ones that just don't think the other party will be an advancement in fact feel rather desperate, for the first time in decades syria is running a bit and a major part of the populace rises, dreaming on the one hand of elementary freedoms, and on the other hand probably of a material advantage, an improvement of their position, in incomes, positions, lobbying, amd perhaps weirder things, sharia to force women to do work, and clergymen to explain how the rich do everything just fine.

not the most pleasant sight. as in libya there is every reason to worry about killings, vengeance and ongoing disagreement in the nation.

if people don't get together and find a decent way out it may become a biggest mess, in as far as we get informed about what syrians think (my opinion the whole approach i get from 'our' media is very onesided) it is obvious there is against, and "not with against."

i don't like compromise and i do not suggest it, i prefer to shape a workable situation.

with the protests supported by the traditional anti-social nations, usia, uk, europe and other capitalist 1% nations, ofcourse the capitalist vultures and bloodsuckers will be ready to rob the syrians. rob them of equality and in the long term consience, dignity. blast them with garbage adds. that make it acceptable an environmentally friendly person get gassed, almost driven over, exploited by high fees for public transport and registered with every step, and next fined.

after all you had been no danger to anyone.

like in syria immediatly a bank or something like it, will pop up and outsource the existing system. worse when foreign powers needed to play more of a role(sanctions). starving children is something capitalists think deserves a reward,

european common people nor usians can give the syrian people any guarantee it would not be worse.

simply because it probably would be worse. it is worse here, and it is getting only worse, for decades now.

whatever system syrians long for, it should be said it is not the capitalist wests system of expendable slaves and cheap labour. not the approach of maximal support for the rich and minimal options for the poor. not the mentality that allows the dutch parliament to declare a law to leave ppl dying in front of haospital is humane.

really it would be no help. they must find their own way out.

just like every sitting clique, baath and assad has the spoils. they do not want to loose any, but the consequence is allways they need and will. otoh if the impartido, the rebellion just goes for a single object, their succes, they will not succeed in a peacefull change at a great speed, and probably they will loose syria as they know it theirselves as well.

think of it like 20 years back in time. even if you win that 20-40% of suria 'rather has assad', and in fact 'rather has baath', no, in democratical terms there need not be a problem,

the real problem is the capitalist terms, i strongly suspect that the actual guarantee the regime seeks, and actually no other requests are ethic, 'permissible (dont know how to say it that word is a bit strong)'.

so these are requests for a public healthcare, a carefull approach with fuel consumption, federal say in landuse, democratical institutions throughout, educational and womens rights.

social and humanitarian guarantees, that if the opposition is not ready to meet show her as a tool,
not a tool of qatar, or israel or usia or uk and europe , not without some remarks,

it would be a tool of a small clique in syria that hopes to be the new winner of the spoils of war and power. (think "millionaire(its never theirs" refugees "reclaiming their palaces and servants ('property'))

before that i beg everyone to reconsider and find a way out that will leave everyone in dignity,
not talking the imams and presidents, just all the people that are secular, sunni or christian, allawite and maybe even kurd that don't feel safe by a shia renaisance and the shia.

it is a bit unreasonable to ask perhaps, in the light of the problems in irak, and the somewhat scary polarity in iran, unreasonable, yet realist,

if you don't prevail it, prevent it, step ahead of this blues, things will be worse.

i hope i have been clear and negotiations can start on this basis, that we can forfill the request for assad to stand down, and the request from the regime and its many believers(!)(,we have those everywhere), to set out reasonable, secular, internationally recognised principles of equality and human rights, to request a guarantee of a social policy that will not sell out the not to plentyfull richess and resource of syria, not 'privateer on the masses', will not start a new terror or a war for it, that will not lock 10000s up, like in irak or afghanistan, and that also will get done with repression.

if need be to the cost of a few years of consumption growth, you can survive without allways growing fatter,

It's now february 2008, and we did a lot of pretty cool things, and a lot of pretty crappy. In the netherlands the overall impression is one of not very informedness,
when something happens the west really likes, eg. bhuto that went to pakistan or bush to israel, there is a great flush of probhutopakistan and to a somewhat more recollected extend,probushisrael, news, but next the whole nation falls back on some utterly obscure case, that is in fact obviously a plea for a more sensationalist aproach to crime.(1)

Meanwhile with our movements of protest being beaten up , institutionalised and splintered the great majority of people hardly have a say about the controversial neo-liberal rightwing offshoots. The effect is evident in society im many ways, ranging from ridiculous, through funny, to paranoia and frustration. Usually not much good because the perpetual repetition of the fascist themes of capitalism has the predictable effect.

Now i just have to talk about al jazeera as it is my primary news source. Al jazeera as an institute of news is far from perfect. It is a very much regarded stream of publicity and the attentions of mediapolicys are strongly present because the concept(alJ) is limited in what it is allowed to represent. Firstly it is bound by many of the usual restrictions on news gathering, wether they are circumstantial or official interference, secondly it is not allowed to function if it disallows abuse of her medium for the official medialine. This can be in topics, expressions used in topics, but also in the sequence of articles or at least, the sequence of expressions used within a topic over time. However it is still more interesting, open and serious then the usual inet media, and through alJ i 'discovered' youtube.
A pleasant way.

K, that said i assume i could give some general impressions on the political states of affairs, and since the year is new, i should say there are some.

Pakistan that focussed to get the worlds attention a month ago, is actually a complicated nation, when you support say bhuto's PPP it does not say so much about if you are a modern person. Likewise when people support sharif don't know his party's name, it does not mean they are ready to allow freedom of expression. There however are many reasons pakistani don't want to support musharaf, who actually seems the most advanced case. He is a militairy person, he has been in charge for a long time, he organises things in a very hard to understand way, he is very lenient to islamists, yet hard when to proof his authority. He is not much of a dictator, then again he is one, Pakistan is a police state, though perhaps not a very bad and political one, the army has to pronounced a place for a 21st century nation, then again Musharaf was not wrong when he decided to use it as the tool of development under all these circumstances. Nobody trusts what he says, because you can trust him to say only as much as he dares. Actually many Pakistanis behave really paranoid towards him, they blame him for everything to such an extend you really rather believe he is innocent, to put it very clearly, similarly that they judge for example the jews, but there is a consensus they want to get rid of him.
Worst of all more radical elements of all partys involved and at least one of the ones not involved, and perhaps foreign interests may all escalate matters. The more important aproach is one where some consensus that is there now , to actually demote musharaf, would not be abused to heat the fire. The people will have a lot of problems to agree with anyhow, the people that think of eg. ppp as better then musharaf, don't much realise that the ppp might not have better answers to the situation (thinks maliki).

Lastly to western normes and eyes, musharaf is a bit of an idiot, his personality is much more pakistani then ours, i would guess he is as pakistani as he thinks is apropriate, he does it for them , not for us. It does not go in pakistan all unnoticed. Plenty people do realise atomic bombs are not so great, and his personal grudge and attack on india have also left bad impressions. Partly because they did not win i assume. The international world wants to get rid of him mostly because of that affair in any case.(2)

My conclusion, i am glad i am not in pakistan, i would feel like a playball of forces greater then the pakistani and i am not so sure i would feel completely safe from musharaf either. Us interference in pakistan is also a scary prospect, ofcourse that if people manage to explode in islamabad now, they will certainly do when the nation is a bloodbath.

so these are my opinions about pakistan. I hope the ppp after the elections will live up to the promises of freedom, and not opt for power through division.
It is smore sensible to involve the army and musharaf in the whole probably, firstly any civil government will be safer and it is the easiest way, secondly untill yet musharafs policys have somewhat kept foreign intervention far. In that sense created room for experiment and dialogue, and both empirically and militairy, as well as relating to the love for pakistan, the best choice.

Next not so good subject. Afrika. Both Kenya and Chad have seen little advance in the last times. It is a good thing when the UN at least cares to provide food to chad after this disaster, that is rather incomprehendible and definitly not quite like the media suggest. The more vague aspect is france's role, however it is equally possible to regard it an usian ploy, some chad/usian/sudanese cooperation,
or just a general sign of absolute unwillingness to settle under ydres debri.
All in all some elements from darfur and surrounding nations would sympathise with such a cause over resources. But chad is a very barren nation, with not enough plants to maintain a moist climate, just like btw kenya's more affected region is not the more green one.

So on to kenya. In Kenya the progress has achieved something. But everybody may feel very scared.., we, the people that fight opression, are very used to conservative forces trying to reverse the opportunity after we agree to negotiate. In kenya people will know this too. Kenyan people overall have not behaved so bad, as both sides have managed to tune in the violence. However the authority's are the more dangerous side when they get time to react. I think that is why odingo does not want to settle without new elections and a more solid confirmation of this change of powers. He does not want to have the balance turn against him or the people without securing a better position to implement the result of the negotiations. Indeed he says it would be better Kibaki stepped back. There is some truth in that it would change quite some governments if rigged elections were not as readily accepted in this world.

oow then there is israel, most complicated nations on the planet, one thing they proof alltogether is they know how to make rockets. I really hope the southern gate will some day be unlocked. It is ridiculous that israel insists on supplying gaza with the mere intend to be able not to deliver. It is a very humiliating and embarrasing situation and as such a source for conflicts throughout the region and outside. When criminals take hostages the traumas read like soap adds. but when the whole gaza population is a hostage for many years nobody really bothers what trauma the people get.

Interesting dillema btw, The anti-racial stance, because it would emancipate the most people and the extra discriminated woman? Or the prowoman stance , because it might affect half of us and the rest, and really is one of the most substantial matters of emancipation as well.

Within that , Clinton is obviously very associated with the existing political system and obama represents something more out of the ordinairy, much more emancipated, when you look at what both represent. Usians don't mean to do bad to the world so much, they only move for war after the media/government has endlessly been preaching the crusade, and they really don't realise most of us arrange our internal matters in a somewhat more friendly way. That the world is not so much a hollywood cartoon here. And also not that people can be much poorer then them. Thats why they bomb nations that hardly have anything to the stone age, and boycot people in distress, they have no idea what they are doing in between their media hypes.

As a result of that the tone of the debate, essentially international, wich is after all the most important aspect, can be expected to change in a better way by getting rid of racial prejudices that, it seems to me, affect us to a greater extend in all these mistaken wars and conflicts we set loose. For example a typical european has a prejudice against every lua and every kikuyu. Not much of a help.

It would be a great and deserving show for the us to overstep this.
So many nations have xenophobe outlets, great tasks ahead.

2008 year of the censors

Don't be surprised. It's the general trend. So 2008 will be a more censored year then the year before. election haze. We will be lured by election hazes more then ever, the capitalist system, the corporates are trying to sell campaigns for democracy. only strong action by the populaces offers a chance on somewhat representative "results" tho. People are very easy to believe.

A recent example is the "speedboat incident" another insignificant if even real incident that will take a prominent place in wikipedia-en.(most probably)
for one thing the us navy said it had video.. but released scenes only later.
That beside i have a slight suspicion boats are around there all the time, and this time may have thrown sigaret buds in the water?

It's just an example how hardly noteworthy and possibly framed incidents, the viddeo is not very convincing, are abused to influence one of these supposedly 'significant' 'democratic' elections. If you keep an eye open in the current trend of stressing elections in the media and reward disproved results 'incidents' will be more often witnessed. Usually it is the timing that tells the character of the incident.

For example: the incident in pakistan today. Why was it timed there? was the man exploding before the lawyers arrived purposedly?? yes. most probably, if the current version is true (he didn't crash a motorbike in a truck, and he was not on foot),
but arrived on motorbike (largely undamaged) , and ran into a crowd of policeman,
he deliberately targetted the police, or perhaps the cops. However the timing then suggest an alliance with the gathering of lawyers. Not improbable, the anti- musharaf lawyers do tend to democracy perhaps, but tend to be the ones with the conservative aproach, logically speaking, from our point of view, because much of the legal dispute is focussed around the implementation of sharia, or it's veritability contrary to the juridical system.(iafaik)
there is the usual natural alliance of this 'taliban' with the more libertarian forces ofcourse, because both are repressed. However i have not discovered a party in pakistan politics intend on serving the populace (as opposed to eg. their purses), or it must be musharafs. So i kind of exclude the really progressive forces in pkaistan of teh violence. (perhaps not justified, pronouncedly so if the pakistan army itself would be known inside pakistan to use means equaly awfull, (practically , the same). If all 3 recent attacks would be framed by musharaf he certainly hates the cops. Not the most fearsome aspect a dictator could have.

First time i got the numbers riot the first time in the year i think. Poverty got its needs. uhm, part of the nr's.

Economy of this reality depends on cooperation. There have been and , most probably are to be, rather large disasters. Their results we could use to set up something like a patchwork disaster service. I fear they will not be without work in a decade.
Perhaps its a nice replacement for all these armys.

Disasters tend to be survivable, recent floods not only in mid america have prooven that with support many people can be saved from physical harm. It is a nice precursor to ecological landuse that these people need to be provided and resettled.

One thing we may still have to account for is droughts. However both the need for reforestation and the need for water can easily be solved through ecological
planologics. They would have been solved if we had started this worldwide 30 years before.

Forestfires will be inevitable, as a result everywhere were dry circumstances occur uggly lanes through the areas must be realised wich is practical with woodcut but does not at all relate to the corporate models of landuse..

Generally crops can be climate independend. Certain crops, and certain varietys of crops stand a climate, eg. the dutch, better. that besides some stand rain better and some drought, by producing a part of the food along these lines the world could build up much needed resources relatively cheaply and at the least ecological expense. It is also a better guarantee to misfortune. If i understand correctly everywhere on the planet foodprices have been on the rise.

Birth reduction. At least under circumstances of war the arguments are pretty simple.

other great events for 2008. development. Now that slowly the uselessness of the production oriented economy dews in, development on itself is not the hardest point anymore. it became a matter of conscience. One might say 'awareness'. Environmental awareness basically. There is an environment where we can provide everyone with food , education and entertainment. But the lower the overall measure of luxury, the more chance we can afford it.

L'isle France

The french don't realise that they are relevant really.
Perhaps that is why saying they need to prove that, still achieves something.

After all our world, the world of europe, to keep it manageable, is the direct product of the french revolution and nothing else. Although france exterminated all their protestants, just before that, the civil revolution that enabled emancipation throughout the divided christian world started in France,

The first country to really make a difference. (The dutch and several other remote european tribes did still better in ancient or proliferate ways but were no match in significance.)
Unfortunately that revolution came to early to make the difference for colonialism.
And ofcourse that could be exactly the problem we still need to cope, to achieve a somewhat pristine mentality.

It is remarkable how france through the priciples of the revolution remained a somewhat populair oppressor through colonialist times. Une esprit intriquE.

Yet the french have to cope with their minority complexes. Somehow they don't understand that when napolean or the medieval fleets made a striking impression,
neversomuch did the struggle with germany over continental priority , and most probably a more equal distribution of wealth through the continent..(ahem),
lead to impressive scores.

Typically the pre-revolutionaire times, had the roman worldpicture. Romanism being a thing that elevated even some of the succesfull northern classes. It was however intrisically devoluted in the northern direction, and part of our current struggle over language, and more probably the struggle of the french over theirs, derives from these times. It seems it is not to well understood.
The whole story is incredibly romantic from the dutch pov. But it is too long and fascinating to introduce here.

Btw. i have the impression i am still not persevering my political motives in what i write.

France in her richess has been a very fortunate country for her once total rulers.
As a result of that, even partly through the narrowmindedness of catholisism, and through the centralist character, the difference between a this area or region, and the different citys have been bigger then in germany or netherlands throughout the 19th century. It's not reconceiling but my father once ought it necessary how he perceived this as something having to do with the treatment of the genetic pool.

So i cannot be completly unbiased about the situation, france once lost a techer-war.
They have a strange garrisonment of gendarme through the country. The traditional attitude of the police used to be very distantiated, harsh even. And the internal justitial situation is not very clear, or overly safe partly through that.

France had rather negative name for battling down eg. squatters demos in huge innercity's as an example of institutional intolerance. As a result of this, many young french were willing to battle the police for their right of expression.
(It was a mystifying experience.)

I have no knowledge except a profoundly negative attitude in paris upto a few years ago, against africans. It is a fact known to me for 30 years or so, that africans in paris are controlled. Intimidated and held, in controversial ways at strange places and awfull moments, by the metropolitan police.

This has always been, although i expect it got some better after the lessons of the riots that shook the suburbs 2 or 3 years ago. This event was considered in a very amiable way in many circles inside (and even outside) france.

Wich a.a.m.o.f. points us to the relevance of germany in this all discussion.
Hence, the period of the vichy regime, and the gaullist attitude after do have a function in the french conscience. Not in the least in the sence of a minority complex. One starts wondering if they did things to algeria thinking: we are not that good people. (on est pas trop mal)

Algeria is a perfect example of how a (perhaps romancatholic) culture can't settle with a postcolonialist reality. As if the dust of the desert must save france, they have been believing of the relevance of the algerian situation for whatever imaginairy safety or sustaining of france.
(This is relevant for the current moment but i think it is true without that).

France is a country with a halfdecent social situation and a country with extreme differences between rich and poor. I remember lanes and villages of empty villas of the rich that were residing in some other villas or houses of them most of the time.
We camped in one garden without fear for discretion because of the vastness of the empty areas around us, excellent pancakes, the milk may have to do with it.

I heard even horror storys happening in such places, without anyone ever noticing.
Perhaps things changed. This is twenty years ago. Satelites should make a difference,
although it is generally the rich that need the kicks.

So france is not an every way safe place. On the other hand, like i just mentioned,
housing arangements are half decent, people stand a chance to live an even artistic or alternative life to some extent. Some areas in france can be excitingly "red" and
many feature beautifull traditions, I personally witnessed how all of france could bother over the nationalist value of flagging, with le pen around in the media spectacle.

That mind, and the possibility to broadly respect the immigrants when they had really had their bellys full of all the discrimination. Plus my personal impression that most of the french have actually now and then considered the value of the french revolution, and her values (including tolerance in fact), have convinced me at least that the great majority of french, do demonstrate human values, not in the least equality of humans. So dear red workers of the nations, and masses of malcontents in precarity it is up to you to have your say.

I believe in red and wrong, and that wrong is when the people are not red, quitte naturally. The side effects of enlightened despotism for me serve only to proof

The television wasn't a pleasing sight, cocky voices.. promoting a silly late night show, (how much time does it take you to send a mail, and how will you unzip a metropole before a village) In wich an SP voter is a traitor, an anarchist, them is him, and loads of talk about future coalitions, with media proclaiming the results are not sure yet every 3 seconds whole evening. Just as usual.
Sorry i have seen the show before. The morning after was a headache.

That they walked the streets and checked the contents of i dunno what, the voting room i think.

Noone really needs to believe it. The word jurist is supposed to do the magic trick in an evening of crappy texts about the SP. In this blog about mass media i point out they could have stayed polite.
It means we can only win by not being lead into a civilwar like situation.
Thats the nasty part of it. If they are not polite.

The right wing is shouting: anarchists won the elections, But in fact nothing changed. The silencer stole most of the votes and just as usually dumped them to the extreme right. The scenario includes some 'sectarianism' ,where honestly no dutch seem very christian at all. Use every bias you can to defeat the socialists, it's still a horrible day.

The worst thing is that when you consider how many more people went voting,
the result is very extreme right, without much reason, but the fear of the rich.
A preparation for a fake future.

On with the brighter sides.

Everyone has to agree the left won. Because evryone knows. Everyone that thinks twice realises they xenophobiacs are all but ready to hand over power, or even think of sharing it. They boiled a happy, fascist to the selfexclaimed extreme right mass, supposedly to side with the christians.

otoh the SP, the dogmatic left , won so undeniably , they really got some seats.
Jan the leader is really glad, and has had a great say in the seat distrubtion i would think. After all its one thing that the far majority of the dutch want a structural leftisht plan , the rich do feel bad. (they should considering they try to have the poorer kill another instead improving.)

However the good side, is we get a chance to deepen the involvement of the sp.
And other socialist party's.
The centre socialist : pvda feel rather encouraged, knowing so many people
have an ideal of solidarity.
And glinstering eyes balkenende (oh how glad with his hollywood potter image) , the christian prime minister, is full of joy for the wonderfull show of unity and trust in another we made. Its beginning to get into their frozen minds we are not the criminals , when we have our moments.

Take care that in a few days they will try something really lousy, they always do that after they realised they failed to make us belief in their ridiculous fascist paranoia's, in elections. (The democrats in US did that so you can bet they have some mean things ready here.)

That is why although there is no reason to shout, perhaps we are to get another chance to proof our socialist selves. Let's get to work and do politics. We'll wipe them so thoroughly worldwide now and forever, soon they will have to admit to peace.

todays fairy tale

ppl will prolli be really interested at what goes off.
mh.. everybody has been thinking of politics or in the broader sense elektions,
for me it is really exiting, my impression everyone in the town i saw was really positive of the intention,untherways everyone smiles knowingly, many marvelous thoughts off politics whirled through everyone's head, like oh one party is all we need, and the reason for it.
Or was it the other way around, that we went for the reason of it, then realised we only need one. So the real thing on TV ... don't get me wrong could be spaced:)... however, as a result evryone is thinking of green left (really good)wing. Mh. I get to the fun of it now. Wich are the moments you realise SP would actually be better. These are quitte beautifull moments when you think labour is just labour or that it is more fun that something happens for once.

I am not soo sure, i saw kids at the voting asking people to write their votes on a paper, and said i was ok, it took me only milliseconds to realise what the propaganda could do with these things.(send the cops in to vote sumthing odd, cus they have oaths of loyalty and other stuff to corrupt them.) I don't think the church would do that, though it feels like they are well aware of the method.


So i asked whether they would see the results there as well, wich was not the case, 3 people sit behind a table.

Putted on the radio.
The radio is horrible, apparently an high nr of ppl vote like 80% everywhere,
or in places. it's not put clear. The news downplays it by , resp. telling more then 50% of ppl went,and saying arab media are very interested for a man in amsterdam. Because he might be a minister , allthough i think many more people voted SP.(like most of frysia).

The next one has a solid poping for benedictus, they advise a lousy,"stemwijzer", that is misleading and bias like all of them, we checked.
